Why The Space Sector?
Growth Opportunities
Uk Government stated objective is for repeat revenues from this sector to be at £45 billion year on year by 2030, currently around £12 billion so good opportunities.

REINVENTING IN
SPACE LOGISTICS AND INFRASTRUCTURE
Three of the main challenges in the Small Satellite industry are:
-
The cost to launch a satellite into orbit,
-
A high mass of propellant that satellites consume to reach the desired operational orbit,
-
And unable to operate at higher LEO altitudes, due to propulsion challenges and end-of-mission requirements.
In this context, the aim is to develop the next-generation Orbital Transfer Vehicle (OTV) capable of providing a ridesharing solution for SmallSats which will offer a much lower launch cost, transferring and deploying satellites precisely into their optimal orbits, and host payloads anywhere in LEO (< 2000 km).

Project Tank

Pre Revenue Investment need £8m
Cost Effective Launch Capability
Metallic (aerospace alloy)/composite hybrid for commercial aircraft fuel or satellite propulsion
100% Composite tanks for cryogenic use on space launch vehicles.
Polymer/composite tanks for Demisable satellite propellant tanks on Orbiting platforms.
Broad cross-sector business case and indicated long-term need supports efficient material, tooling and manpower costs;

Market Potential
The market size for provision of the launcher propellant tanks (excluding any new UK requirements) is challenging to evaluate, as most operators are either Institutional in nature (i.e. Government owned) or Commercial operators, with protection of related usage or price data. Both tend to produce their own tanks and other components.
This makes them expensive, in comparison to a commercial tank provider.
The true commercial launcher sector is currently led by two US companies (Space-X and Blue Origin) and these Companies’ supply chains may prove difficult to access.
However, commercial space is becoming more open and we believe that the efficient production of high value products at attractive prices will put pressure on buyers to consider new suppliers, and with the market estimated at £200 million per annum, we are confident we can attain a minimum 5% market share within 3 years.
Growth of market share within the sector should then increase by 2-5% per year thereafter.

LAUNCH SERVICES
The delivery unit will be able to launch payloads of up to 500Kg into Polar Low Earth Orbit, or 300Kg into Sun Synchronous Orbit, or smaller multiple payloads on the same mission. Our system is designed to scale up so that, after initial demonstration, we will be able to increase our payload and performance capabilities.
Our launch programme will be flexible, frequent, reliable and responsive. We will plan our schedule to meet the specific needs of our launch customers – and this includes responding to short notice, urgent requests to launch. We will be able to prioritise and fast track launches without adversely impacting on previously agreed schedules.
Launches will take place from the optimal location to achieve the required orbit for the payload – from our seaborne spaceport.
Terrestrial Spaceports are usually sited in the most ideal place for space operations. Sometimes, geography may limit these locations, by restricting the ability to achieve the orbit required for a particular mission; adding environmental implications for the local environment (not least the noise impact on the neighbours); and placing limitations on the trajectory (or line-of-sight) due to populations or national infrastructure below the preferred flight path, or disruption of commercial airway corridors.

Launching from a stabilised sea platform enables the launch to take place from the optimal location to achieve the required orbit, with significant reductions on the fuel required to achieve that orbit (no mid-course adjustments); minimises the concerns about environmental and noise impact on local populations, protected sites and wildlife; and enables more safety in trajectory planning without overflying populated areas.
It offers great savings without having the costs of creating a land-based infrastructure, lowers insurance costs, and provides increased cost and time efficiencies through unrestricted campaigns.
In some cases, we could even beat the weather!

Regional House Builder Seeking Finance
With working from home now a feature of working life which will certainly continue as a hybrid model this has been a major driving factor in the number of people choosing to relocate to more rural areas. High Property prices reflects demand exceeding supply providing further opportunities for investors and housebuilders. Margins reflect the market. The average rural property price has risen by 20.8% in the last five years, which is a 3.3% higher increase than in urban areas.
